Dedrone Welcomes Former Cisco Meraki Director of Marketing as Vice President of Marketing

April 12, 2017

Dedrone, a security company that developed the world’s first software to detect drones and protect high-value airspace from drone threats, today announced that Pablo Estrada has joined the company as Vice President of Marketing. Estrada will lead the growing startup on product marketing, strategy, and public communications. Mr. Estrada was formerly the Director of Marketing for Cisco Meraki, the leader in cloud-managed IT. He is the first executive hire for Dedrone following their $15 million Series B funding round in February 2017.

“Our company is expanding rapidly, and we’re thrilled Pablo has joined our team,” says Joerg Lamprecht, CEO, and co-founder of Dedrone. “Pablo was key to the success in growing Cisco Meraki from a small startup to a multi-billion dollar business. He has deep understanding of the startup industry, and keen knowledge of information technology, software, and engineering. He is a skilled and accomplished marketer and brings to Dedrone his expertise of the security market as well as enthusiasm and commitment to develop and lead Dedrone’s marketing department. We couldn’t be happier to welcome him to the Dedrone team.”

Formerly, Estrada was the Director of Marketing for Cisco Meraki, where he oversaw the company’s expansion in the enterprise networking and security market. During Pablo’s six years there, Meraki became the leader in cloud-managed IT, was acquired by Cisco for $1.2 billion in 2012, increased their install base to over 150,000 customers, and grew to over $1 billion in annual sales. Before Meraki, he was a product manager for Keysight Technologies, formerly known as Agilent Technologies, the world's leading electronic measurement company.

“Dedrone’s roster of investors, as well as a very compelling international customer base, initially caught my attention when I was looking to move to the company. What solidified my decision to join Dedrone was the opportunity to be a leader of an exciting startup that is at the forefront of an emerging technology and is breaking open an entirely new market within the security industry,” shares Estrada. “Dedrone’s momentum is astounding. Not only that, but this is an opportunity for me to be a part of a company with a global footprint and a mission to provide complete aerial security across the world for all enterprises and concerned citizens.”

Estrada is a graduate of Purdue University, where he studied electrical engineering and computer science. He will be based full-time at Dedrone’s headquarters in San Francisco.
