Linux Systems Engineer (m/f/x)

At Dedrone we’re building high performance distributed sensor systems for drone detection, identification and mitigation. Our sensors are state-of-the-art computing devices which use signal processing and machine learning to detect and identify drones and communicate with our cloud-based platform for sensor data fusion, alerting, reporting and analytics.

We’re looking for an experienced Linux Systems Engineer (m/f/x) as part of our growing software team to work on sensor firmware development, security architecture and platform deployments.



  • Develop and maintain software artifacts, scripts and workflows for sensor firmware and platform software
  • Support software development, infrastructure und production teams in setting up new build processes and works collaboratively to overcome build and deployment roadblocks
  • Combine operating system kernel, hardware drivers, open source libraries and our proprietary software into embedded and server products
  • Security patch management for sensor firmware and platform software
  • Striving for automated approaches for all aspects of software deployment and update processes



  • Technical degree or experienced autodidact
  • Strong background in Linux based environments (server, embedded, desktop)
  • At least two years of professional software development experience and shell scripting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in writing integration tests and black-box tests
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Fluent in English and German, able to express ideas and opinions clearly

The following qualifications are a plus:

  • Knowledge of Java, Python, JavaScript
  • Experience with networking and distributed systems
  • CCNA
