Dedrone is pleased to announce that from a pool of more than 5,700 company applications, it was chosen as one of three award winners of Cisco’s 2016 Innovation Grand Challenge. The judging panel announced their decision today during Lisbon’s Web Summit conference, Europe's largest technology conference with over 50,000 participants. Dedrone, based in San Francisco, California, presented its anti-drone solution to the panelists and received the third prize.
"We are delighted that Cisco has selected us as one of the most promising global start-ups," said Jörg Lamprecht, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dedrone. "This is an award for our entire team and confirms that our early warning system’s engineering properties are a much needed product in the security marketplace."
Cisco’s senior director of corporate development technology, Helder Antunes, adds “Co-innovation ideas are overflowing throughout the conference, but our three winners rose to the top because of their unique potential to change the game in key industry markets.”
The purpose of Cisco’s Innovation Grand Challenge is to discover breakthrough digital solutions for a safer, more sustainable and better connected world every year. This year’s contest featured applicants from more than 150 countries.
